Independent Travel Training

Achieving for Children offers an Independent Travel Training (ITT) service for young people who need some support in accessing public transport.

This workshop is suitable for parent/carers who want to learn how they can support their young person to travel independently. The young person can also attend but a ticket must be booked for each attendee.

This training will be delivered by two members of the Independent Travel Training Team. The workshop will discuss the benefits of the training and how they work with individuals. The workshop will cover the barriers young people face in becoming independent and will discuss strategies to overcome these. It will also explore how technology can assist and travel training and go through how to apply for zip cards or freedom cards. 

The training offers in-depth support and allows the team to answer any individual questions that you may have.
