Express CIC: Healthwatch Focus Group

We are hosting a focus group for Healthwatch. We need up to 10 people including parent/carers and autistic people (with or without a learning disability) to commit to attending.

Healthwatch Project: Accessible Information Standard and GP services

Do you (or the person you care for) have communication needs that affect how you engage with your GP service?

If so, we want to hear from you in a focus group forum.

Who will be hosting the focus group? Healthwatch organisations within Southwest London (Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond,Sutton, and Wandsworth).

Your local Healthwatch organisations (who are independent charities with a statutory role) are gathering feedback from people and their carers on how GP services have addressed their communication needs by implementing the Accessible Information Standard.

We will be hosting a focus group session where you can share your experiences of GP services, including attending appointments, receiving follow-up communication, and other methods of communication with your GP.

What is the Accessible Information Standard? The Standard sets out how health and care services must meet the communication and information needs of people with certain disabilities or conditions such as neurodiversity, sensory loss, certain neurological conditions, and/or learning disability. Your voice can have a real impact on the implementation of the Accessible Information Standard within GP services.

When will the focus group take place: 4th July 2024

Time: 9.30-11.30 am

Where: Express CIC, 452 Ewell Road, Surbiton KT6 7EL
